Abakaliki Formation are folded, lead/zinc mineralized shales with sandstone lenses and limestone bed. The limestone bed is up to 30m in thickness while the thickness of the formation is more than 500m. 10. The sandstones of the Abakaliki Formation are fine grained and have calcareous cement. It has a highly fractured and weathered zone.
